當今都市生活的典型特徵是人口擁擠、刺激過多、資訊過剩、節奏緊張、競爭劇烈, 對人們的身心造成壓力，日積月累導致各種亞健康與疾病時有發生。人們需要針對壓力狀態進行身心放鬆，時間與空間是機體身心放鬆的必要條件。環境心理學研究發現, 一些特定環境可以幫助人們減輕壓力及與之相伴的各種不良情緒、減少心理疲勞, 從而促進身心健康。這些具有恢復性的環境以室外綠地、郊野空間為主，但對於忙碌的都市人，這類空間並非及時排解壓力之首選。前人研究中，基於老人、孩童認為的喜愛地點，住宅被建議作為恢復性環境的一種可能性。住宅因其獨有的歸屬性，從時間和距離的角度均是理想的放鬆空間之選。如何從室內空間特徵感知的角度
