競技運動的發展不僅能促進大型運動賽事的舉辦,以提升主辦地區的經濟活動、普及大型運動場館的建設、科技技術於運動的創新結合,也能提升社會和文化的發展等諸如此類的益處。而當今社會的公民對於運動產業的需求也不斷增長,為維持滿足當代公民對運動的需求及不損害後代滿足其需要的發展能力,因此在推動競技運動的永續發展上有著不可或缺的重要性。本研究透過過往文獻的彙整,並提出桌球競技運動永續發展的評估框架及其準則。本研究召集數位於桌球競技運動領域深耕多年的專家學者,組成專家決策小組與之訪談,訪談資料再透過決策實驗室分析(Decision-Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory

, DEMATEL),以了解桌球競技運動永續發展的影響準則權重大小,及其準則間的因果關係。研究結果表明,企業贊助桌球運動組織、桌球運動的行銷行為、舉辦大型桌球運動賽會、政府政策管理以及桌球運動相關組織之企業社會責任等準則是最具重要性的,且透過影響網絡關係圖(Influential Network Relation Map, INRM)發現,政府政策管理明顯影響了其他準則。因此,若要提倡桌球競技運動永續發展,就必須藉由政府政策的擬定,來促進企業贊助桌球運動組織的行為,或是舉辦更多大型桌球運動賽事等,使桌球運動能在臺灣更加蓬勃發展。
