摘要 生物面臨著都市化與土地過度開發，所造成的棲地喪失與棲地破碎化正逐漸壓縮著生物的棲息空間。棲地環境的改變對於不同生物的影響不一，為了維護生物多樣性，有必要了解不同生物的棲地需求。棲地環境是影響蟬若蟲存活及生長發育的重要因素，因為若蟲在羽化之前，需要在地底下生活數年。由於若蟲無法進行長距離移動，因此棲地的品質將會影響整個若蟲生長發育甚至死亡率。紅脈熊蟬(Cryptotympana atrata)是臺灣都市中常見的蟬類，會在各種不同大小以及隔離程度的棲地中出現，目前對其若蟲所利用環境、羽化模式及性別比研究甚少。本研究期望透過了解紅脈熊蟬若蟲的羽化模式、棲地需求與利用，以期能更深入探討紅脈

熊蟬在棲地改變時可能會產生的反應。 本研究以臺南市虎山林場為研究樣區，從森林邊緣到內部劃設六條穿越線。在繁殖季時，利用穿越線的樣樹上所收集的蟬蛻及環境資料來探討:(1)紅脈熊蟬的羽化模式包括羽化時總數量變化，雄蟬雌蟬的先後順序及性別比；(2)蟬蛻的空間分布，包括在樹幹上的垂直高度與水平分布(森林邊緣到森林內部的數量變化)；以及探討(3)影響蟬體型的因素。結果發現紅脈熊蟬羽化從五月中開始至八月初結束，羽化高峰為五月中至六月初，雄性較雌性先羽化，數量上雄性顯著較多，性別比為 1.3:1(公:母)。若蟲使用的植物偏好大葉桃花心木(Swietenia macrophylla)及小葉欖仁(Termi
